The first steps, a splendid childhood scene.
Berthe SAVIGNY was born in 1882 in Quimper, in a family of artists. When she was a child, she met Gauguin, Apollinaire, Emile Bernard and Max Jacob. In 1927, she started working with the Manufacture Henriot in Quimper. Berthe Savigny is famous for her babies sculptures, full of sensivity and tenderness. They met an immediate success, reinforced with the reedition of the Quimper white enamel collection by Henriot.
